SONAGAS GE PAYS TRIBUTE TO AMPCO'S LEGACY

In an atmosphere filled with symbolism and gratitude, Sonagas GE actively participated in the Legacy Tree Planting Ceremony, organized by Atlantic Methanol Production Company (AMPCO) at the Punta Europa Plant.
This event marked the close of a historic era: 25 years of AMPCO operations in Equatorial Guinea, characterized by collaboration, joint development, and commitment to the country. The event brought together government authorities, representatives of the energy sector, members of the diplomatic corps, employees, and strategic partners. They all gathered to pay tribute to AMPCO's history and leave a lasting legacy.

Sonagas GE, as a key partner in this story, was represented by its Deputy CEO, Mr. Jacinto Nguema Owono Martínez, who offered profound and emotional remarks: "AMPCO's true legacy is not just the tree we planted today, but the training of professionals who have strengthened the national energy sector. This tree represents a shared commitment to development and sustainability."
Mr. Nguema Owono also highlighted concrete achievements such as the installation of the national incinerator, a fundamental infrastructure for the responsible treatment of
industrial waste, the result of a joint effort between AMPCO and its partners. He also reiterated Sonagas GE's commitment to continue building on the foundations laid by this alliance.

The Sonagas GE delegation was accompanied by Maribel Nsing Ela Ada and Feliciano Ntugu Obono, both from the Marketing, Communications and Image Department, who actively participated in this moment of reflection, institutional memory and fellowship.
During the ceremony, prominent figures gave meaningful remarks that highlighted AMPCO's impact on Equatorial Guinea and its lasting legacy. Jim O'Casek, AMPCO's President and CEO, recalled his 18 years of service to the country, deeply appreciating the constant support of employees, the Government and strategic partners. For his part, José Estévez, President of Chevron Corporation, highlighted AMPCO's role as a fundamental pillar of energy development in Equatorial Guinea, encouraging workers to feel proud of the legacy they have built.
Diosdado Nguema Nzang, Secretary General of the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Mining Development, noted that AMPCO leaves a positive mark on the communities, assuring that, although a chapter is closing, new opportunities are emerging for the sector. Presidential Advisor on Hydrocarbons Fidel Obama Asumu was also present, reinforcing institutional support for the ceremony.

In addition, the participation of representatives of the United States Embassy granted a diplomatic dimension to the event, reaffirming the international recognition for the AMPCO's positive and lasting impact on the region.
The highlight was the planting of the Legacy Tree by the authorities and partners present, a gesture that symbolizes continuity, gratitude, and a vision for the future. The event concluded with refreshments and a family photo, sealing a moment steeped in history with fraternity.
